Honoring God with our Tithes & Offering
In the Old Testament covenant the people brought offerings of animals or produce not only as a sacrifice to atone for their sins, but as an offering to the Lord in thanksgiving and joy for all He has done. In the new covenant Christ has become our perfect atonement and sacrifice for our sins (Hebrews 10:10). It is then our delight to give our Lord the first fruits of all He has blessed us with in thanksgiving. Sacrificial giving from the heart carries the great blessings of God (2 Corinthians 9:6-16).
We are called to tithe, which is 10% of what the Lord has blessed us with (Leviticus 27:30). An offering is anything more than your tithe that you feel God has led you to give sacrificially (Mark 12: 41-44).
All that we have comes from our Glorious God, who is perfectly sufficient for all our needs. What a blessing we have, that we can honor His generosity and mercy in our lives in the giving of our tithe.
How Can I Give to Friendship?
Online Giving
Website processing of financial gifts provides a fast, convenient and secure way for you to give a one-time gift or set up a recurring offering to be automatically deducted from a checking account or charged to a check card or credit card on a schedule of your choosing.
Our secure online giving service is hosted by SimpleGive. In order to set up an automatically recurring offering, you will need to create an account, which will allow you to choose your giving options and view your online giving history. Only gifts donated online will be displayed here, but you will continue to receive quarterly giving statements from Friendship that encompass all donations.
Of course, if you've been donating via your PayPal account, you may continue using that option as well.
Is it safe to donate online?
Simple Give takes security very seriously. All information is encrypted with 256 bit from the user's web browser to the merchant provider and then onto the actual bank.
Can I make a one-time donation, or do I have to set up a recurring donation?
Yes, you control the frequency of your donation, and you can change your options at any time.
How frequently does my recurring donation occur?
You choose the start date and how frequently your donation takes place. Choose from quarterly, monthly, weekly, bi-weekly or twice a month. The day of the week is determined by your start date and the frequency you choose.
How will I know when my donation has been made?
You will receive a confirmation e-mail when you set up your recurring donation, and will also receive an email each time a donation occurs. All online donations will be shown in the online giving history, and all donations (online or other types) will appear on your Contribution Statement, mailed out quarterly.
What if I want to cancel my recurring donations?
You may cancel or revise your recurring donations at any time simply by logging into your account and changing your options.
