"Jesus replied, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the prophets hang on these two commandments'" (Matthew 22:37-39).

It is our goal in the Flood to help your 7th and 8th graders to become people who Love God with all they got and Love the people around them. We are convinced that when middle school students begin to own and live out these two things, God will begin to develop a Christ centered maturity and drive in their lives.

Our Values:

Loving God (by…)

  • Proper Concept of Christ:* Big picture of who God is (especially Christ).
  • Prayerful Dependence: * Dependence on God through prayer in decisions and relationships.
  • Priority of the Word: *Using God's Word as our basis for finding truth and living our lives.

Loving the people around us (by…)

  • Atmosphere of Love: * Being middle schoolers who bring encouragement, support, and comfort to the people around us.
  • Biblical Group Image: * Being middle schoolers who partner with God in making disciples.
  • Consistent Contacting: * Being people who are intentionally developing relationships which help each other grow closer to God.
  • *taken from Foundations.

Our Process:

Step 1: "Mid-Week"
Prior Lake Campus: Wednesday (6:30-8:00pm) - Celebration Room
Shakopee Campus: Wednesday (6:30-8:00pm) - Teen Room

This is the first step for your 7th and 8th grader at the Flood. Our "Mid-Week" programs are designed to help middle school students love God with everything they got and to love the people around them.

Step 2: "Discussion Groups"
Prior Lake Campus: Sunday (Second Service) - Chapel
Shakopee Campus: Sunday (First Service) - Teen Room

Is your student looking for the "next step"? Well that "next step" happens in discussion groups. On Sunday mornings, your 7th and 8th grade students have the opportunity to meet with a small group of students and an adult leader. It is our desire to see our discussion groups develop a heart for Loving God and Loving People. We do this by adding the layers of community and accountability. Discussion groups are designed to help students to actively help each other grow closer to God and to actively help each other care for the people around them.
